Building contractor has one opening for a Lead Carpenter.

Our company is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter for a full-time position working on light commercial and residential projects throughout Hernando County Florida. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage a crew, deliver high-quality craftsmanship, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. This role is for a self-motivated professional with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Key responsibilities:

Project construction and management:

Lead on-site carpentry crews, providing direction and supervision to ensure work is completed to company standards.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials and project requirements.

Perform skilled rough and finish carpentry, including framing, drywall, cabinetry, flooring, and trim work on both commercial and residential job sites.

Execute light commercial build-outs, including metal stud framing and drywall, hollow metal frame installations.

Perform residential remodeling tasks such as demolition, framing, and installing windows, doors, and trim.

Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project flow.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of verifiable carpentry experience, with a focus on both residential and light commercial projects.

Proven ability to lead a crew and manage a job site.

Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.

Proficiency in all phases of carpentry, from rough framing to high-end finish work.

Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.

Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Must own basic carpentry hand tools. Specialized tools will be provided.

Valid Florida driver's license with reliable transportation and a good driving record.

Physical ability and stamina to lift heavy materials (up to 75-125 pounds) and perform strenuous tasks in Florida's weather conditions.

OSHA 10-hour safety course certification is a plus.

Enforce and adhere to all safety protocols, including company policies and OSHA standards, and maintain a safe and clean job site.

Conduct regular quality assurance inspections to ensure all work meets project specifications and company standards.

Ensure the proper use and maintenance of company tools and equipment
