Specialized Services Group, a Commercial Construction, Painting, and Historical Restoration General Contractor, is seeking a FINISH CARPENTER to join our Millwork Shop Team!

The Finish Carpenter for our Commercial Millwork Shop is responsible for installing and finishing interior and exterior millwork in commercial and historical buildings. Their work includes fabricating, assembling, and installing various millwork components like doors, trim, windows, etc., based on detailed blueprints and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications: This ensures accurate installation of millwork components.

Fabricating and assembling millwork: This involves using woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools to cut, shape, and

join wood and other materials.

Installing millwork: This includes doors, trim, windows, etc.

Ensuring quality and precision: Millwork installation requires attention to detail and adherence to specific measurements and

standards.

Maintaining a safe and organized work environment: This includes proper tool handling, site cleanup, and adherence to safety

protocols.

Communicating with supervisors and other trades: This ensures smooth project execution and timely completion.

Traveling to various job sites: Commercial millwork projects can be located in different areas and may require travel.

Essential Skills:

Carpentry and millwork experience: Prior experience in commercial millwork is highly desirable.

Trim carpentry skills: This includes installing and finishing various types of trim.

Proficiency with hand and power tools: This includes saws, drills, routers, and other woodworking tools.

Problem-solving skills: Ability to address on-site challenges and ensure proper fit and alignment of millwork.

Physical stamina and dexterity: This is necessary for handling materials and tools, and for working in various positions.

Teamwork and communication skills: Collaborating with other trades and communicating with supervisors is essential.

Safety: Adherence to safety regulations and procedures is paramount.
