Carpenter Journeyman

Superior Skilled Trades is hiring Journeyman carpenters for a long-term project in the Tampa, FL and St Petersburg, FL area (must be willing to commute between these areas).

PAY: $25-$28/hour (based upon experience)

HOURS: Shifts will be 8-hour workdays 5 days per week -Some Saturdays

SCHEDULE: 8:00 am-5:00 pm

START DATE: 09/01/2025

Job Overview:

This position involves working on swing stages up to 20 stories and higher, assisting with a variety of construction tasks. The ideal candidate will bring the ability to perform all aspects of assigned work independently and in a team environment. This individual will not only complete tasks with a high level of skill but also demonstrate leadership by supervising crews of 4–10 employees. A strong communicator with proven technical ability, this candidate will be key in ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient project execution

Responsibilities:

Perform a wide variety of carpentry and construction tasks, including:

Chipping, grinding, cement work, power washing

Painting, caulking, brushing, sealing, and patch work

Restoration, prep work, and specialty finishing skills

Safely work at heights on swing stages and scaffolding

Use hand and power tools effectively and maintain them in proper condition

Oversee day-to-day crew operations, supervising 4–10 employees

Ensure quality standards are met on all assignments

Communicate clearly with project managers, supervisors, and team members

Implement and enforce safety procedures on-site

Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and site safety protocols

Qualifications:

Proven ability to perform all aspects of carpentry and construction tasks

Strong leadership skills with experience supervising crews of 4–10 employees

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

OSHA 10 certification (required)

Comfortable working at heights on swing stages and scaffolds

Solid understanding of restoration, patch work, sealing, and specialty painting techniques

Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented

Additional Requirements:

Must be eligible to work in the United States

Must have reliable transportation to the job site

Comfortable working at heights

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

A commitment to following safety guidelines and protocols at all times

Must be able to pass a background check
