We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Associate Estimator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to grow their estimating and project planning skills in the low-voltage industry.
Position Summary
The Associate Estimator supports the estimating team by assisting with quantity takeoffs, material pricing, bid preparation, and proposal development. The ideal candidate is a team player with a basic understanding of low-voltage systems and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for all low-voltage system bids.
Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings, specifications, and addenda.
Obtain and organize pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare detailed bid proposals in coordination with senior estimators and project managers.
Maintain an organized database of historical costs, material prices, and bid documentation.
Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client meetings as needed.
Communicate clearly and professionally with vendors, clients, and internal team members.
Stay up-to-date with industry standards, materials, and installation practices.
Support handoff of awarded projects to project management team.
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in electrical, low-voltage, or construction estimating OR a strong interest and aptitude for construction and willingness to learn.
Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications (low-voltage systems preferred).
Familiarity with low-voltage systems such as structured cabling, access control, CCTV, AV, etc. (not required but preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with estimating software a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
