A client in the Tampa Bay, Florida area is seeking a Technical Development Manager for a permanent position. A Hybrid Work Schedule is available for this role.The Technical Development Manager’s first major project will be leading the client’s transition to, and utilization of OutSystems, a low-code platform. They will become the subject matter expert and lead a team in the design, development, troubleshooting and optimizing of OutSystems. Software development is primarily done by offshore resources and contractors, but the Technical Development Manager will build their team as needed over time.Responsibilities:• Work to become the OutSystems subject matter expert• Drive the utilization and use of OutSystems, while transitioning the platform to an external cloud provider• Provide hands-on assistance to the development efforts as needed including design activities, code reviews, etc.• Manage the technical activities of a software development team engaged in software applications development, application enhancements and new products; this includes architecture/design, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and maintenance• Contribute to the strategic technical directions, planning, organizing, resource allocation, development goals, standards and processes• Lead the development of software applications for the full software development lifecycle, including secure coding practices• Report on the team’s organizational, project and individual metrics; assist in collecting and presenting metrics• Work with cross functional groups to gather and define product requirements, specifications, and establish development launch schedules• Assist in the selection and hiring of qualified staff, ensuring an effective on-boarding, and providing training and feedback as the team grows• Provide technical mentoring/coaching to junior staff membersRequired Skills:• Desire to learn, understand, take ownership, and drive the use of the OutSystems, low-code platform• Experience managing, or leading software developers, software development and web technologies• Experience with .NET web application architecture, design and development• Ability to provide hands-on assistance as needed to support the development teams using some of the following technologies: service oriented architecture (REST/SOAP Web Services/WCF), database design (SQL Server) and unit testing frameworksEducation:• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informational Technology, Management Information Systems or related field is required, a Master’s Degree is preferredAlltech, Inc. is a leading provider of IT staffing services.
