Job Description:
As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk specializing in parts receiving, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of incoming parts. You will be responsible for verifying shipments, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records to support our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and Inspect Parts: Check incoming shipments for accuracy, ensuring that parts match purchase orders and are free from damage.
Document Receipt: Record all received parts into the inventory system, including part numbers, quantities, and any discrepancies.
Organize Inventory: Store parts in appropriate locations, ensuring efficient and organized inventory management.
Coordinate with Suppliers: Communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues with shipments, such as discrepancies or damaged goods.
Prepare for Distribution: Package and label parts as needed for internal distribution or shipping to customers.
Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of all received parts, including tracking and filing necessary documentation.
Assist with Inventory Counts: Participate in regular inventory counts and audits to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in shipping and receiving, particularly with parts or inventory management, is preferred.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying and documenting parts.
Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and manage inventory effectively.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with suppliers and team members.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with inventory management software and basic computer applications.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy parts and operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment as needed.
