Experience working in a dog kennel, pet resort, dog boarding facility preferred. Experience working in a farm environment with 20 plus animals is also acceptable.
Retired Military is also a plus.
Looking for a strong personality: Proactive, motivated to take action, self-starters, has discipline to stay on track,
has common sense, ability to solve problems, work independently, are able to command dogs and be authoritative.
To be a kennel assistant you have to be physically fit, be able to lift 55lbs, bend over, and stand for long periods of time.
To be a kennel assistant you have to be okay with dog feces.

Looking for someone who enjoys physical work, enjoys being around animals, likes to work with the german shepherd breed because they are loyal, intelligent creatures. We are not looking for someone to come give a hand because they are in need of money now. We are not looking for someone who wants extra cash for their vacation or for the holiday season. These people do not work out and waste my time. Also not looking for someone who wants this job because they love their dogs at home.
This is not a job where you play with dogs all day.
However, this is a position with many gratifying aspects. Whelping puppies and assisting in the care of newborn pups, watching them grow is a great experience and very rewarding.
Training dogs is fun, being with dogs that love and respect you is rewarding.
Kennel Assistant main duties are feeding the K9's, supplying fresh water, hosing living areas, disinfecting kennels and runs.
Deworming on a schedule, bathing, and exercising each K-9.
Assisting in appointments.
Assisting in k9 and puppy trainings.
Assisting in advertising.
Keeping facility clean and organized.
Keeping office space clean and floors mopped.
Helping with any maintenance needed.
Assisting the company in any way needed to be successful.
