The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for the overall product quality provided by our suppliers. This position provides both technical oversight and supplier quality management with a focus on managing and growing the capabilities of our suppliers to ensure compliance to requirements. Works closely with a cross functional team and suppliers to resolve major quality issues. Visits suppliers to understand their processes, controls and verify controls are executed as planned. Maintains systematic reporting and metrics for suppliers on their quality performance to drive continuous improvement and efficiency. U.S. citizen required and ability to obtain a security clearance.Responsibilities: Utilizes data methodologies to measure, analyze and improve supplier performance and reduce supplier non-conformancesMonitors and maintains established quality metrics and guides supplier level or commodity level programs to meet or exceed established goalsPlan and conduct regular onsite audits with suppliers including onsite certification of product and processesPerform or work within a given commodity and represent the requirements and capabilities of that commodity with a focus on enabling optimized supplier performanceEnsures measurement system for quality, costs, indicators, trends, and supplier ratings for assigned supplier base is maintained.Ensure nonconformance (NC’s) and corrective actions are initiated in accordance with internal procedures.Participate as a member of the Material Review Board to review and disposition supplier related nonconforming material reports as required and take ownership of processing SCARS.Leads cross functional team to understand major quality trends and drive root cause corrective action with suppliers; support internal processes as related to the quality function including coordinating all supplier level communication for quality issuesAssesses risk and defines mitigation plans and drives implementation of control with the supply chainProject Lead for key supply chain projects as assignedSupport all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed to support  the needs of the department/positionKey Driver in developing and strengthening a culture of continuous improvement.Complies with and ensures department compliance with Company health, safety, and environmental policies.Complies with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations.Comply with all applicable legislation requirements
