Description Robert Half is looking for an ambitious, eager Controller to join the team at an well-respected services company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. As a part of the leadership team, you will lead the generation of innovative ideas that are sound and progressive, challenge the status quo, and foster creativity throughout your area of responsibility. Your responsibilities

Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

Requirements - Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

CPA or MBA preferred

Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

Budget forecasting experience desired

Command of financial statement preparation

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

Prior work done in public accounting is desired

Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
