JMT is currently ranked #59 on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 500 Design Firms.Position Summary: JMT is seeking a motivated individual who desires to work alongside JMT’s leadership team to implement strategic initiatives across our footprint. The successful candidate will be a senior leader and subject matter expert in climate adaptation and coastal / inland resiliency, supplying technical oversight to drive the strategic direction for climate adaptation and resiliency initiatives throughout JMT. Candidate will lead corporate development in the climate resiliency marketplace, actively taking part in marketing, client relations, and firm education and visibility development efforts. U.S. Residency Required.Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Expand our corporate portfolio in resilience, climate adaptation, and coastal- related projects and initiatives

Interact with internal departments to support understanding in the value of resiliency, climate and coastal- related services as a value-added service to our clients

Serve in the role of Project Manager, Program Manager, or Resilience Lead on related projects

Provide technical expertise to operations leads, practice leaders, project managers and technical staff

Build project teams, integrating resiliency perspectives into built and natural infrastructure projects as well as delivering stand-alone resiliency focused projects

Lead and contribute to the production of proposals

Establish and grow market presence through marketing and business development

Coordinate strategic plan with operational leads and practice leaders

Assist clients in understanding funding related to climate/resilience and other funding programs

Represent JMT within targeted resiliency and climate change organizations

Required SkillsRequired Experience

Progressive experience in the planning/engineering/resiliency sector

15+ years’ direct professional experience in multi-disciplinary planning, engineering, and construction projects

8+ years focused on climate/resiliency of infrastructure

Project management and business development experience

Thorough understanding of climate resiliency / sustainability needs on the East Coast, with a focus on transportation projects, coastal resiliency, maritime/riverine development, utility sustainability and vulnerability

Experience working with state, local and federal agencies and their infrastructure

Preferred Experience

Master’s Degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited program

Experience in Coastal Engineering including planning, design, construction, and maintenance of marine structures is a plus

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or accredited Planning Professional (AICP)

Broad knowledge base of engineered and natural systems, water resources, the coastal environment, climate resiliency planning, vulnerability, design and public policy

The ability to evaluate protection of existing elements of the built and natural environment through climate adaptation solutions

Working knowledge of resiliency-related grant programs such as PROTECT, FEMA BRIC and Flood Insurance Program, NOAA ESLR, NFWF, and platforms associated with IIJA and IRA

Experience with relevant FEMA, NOAA, and associated state tools such as the Resiliency Analysis and Planning Tool, National Risk Index, etc.

Expertise in FHWA process and technology changes with respect to project specific vulnerability assessments, modeling requirements, and adaptation cost-benefit analysis and adaptation selection

FHWA NHI climate and resilience- based trainings and certificates

Climate, Resilience, and Sustainability- related credentials, including: Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP); ACCO Certified Climate Change Professional (CC-P); GARP Sustainability; and Climate Risk Certificate (SCR)

Familiarity with state climate action plans

Proven leadership skills and the ability to find suitable candidates to help grow

Agency and potential resiliency client relationships

Supervisory experience

Working Conditions Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking.
