Job Title: CAD DesignerJob DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Piping and Structural Designer/Drafter to work from engineers' sketched flow sheets and P&IDs to design and draw complete details of seawater, brackish water, and reverse osmosis systems. The role involves producing designs for equipment/piping, piping tie-ins, equipment arrangement drawings, bills of materials (BOM), piping supports, steel tanks, access walkways, and all other fabricated items around the desalination plant. The designer must have piping design skills and the ability to visualize items within a 3D space to ensure no interference upon installation. The candidate will work closely with project managers to gather measurement data from existing water/reverse osmosis equipment. Proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D is required and will be tested.Responsibilities
Design and draft complete details of seawater, brackish water, and reverse osmosis systems.
Produce layouts of reverse osmosis plants in 3D and transfer information to 2D sketches.
Create designs for equipment/piping, piping tie-ins, equipment arrangement drawings, BOM, piping supports, steel tanks, and access walkways.
Visualize items within a 3D space to ensure no interference upon installation.
Collaborate with project managers to gather measurement data from existing equipment.
Ensure designs meet all technical and safety standards.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D.
Skilled in Autodesk Vault, Autodesk AutoCAD, and general PC usage.
Ability to produce designs from general design concepts.
Experience in piping design and mechanical design of various piping materials including PVC, stainless steel, and FRP.
3-5 years of professional work experience in the water treatment industry, particularly with reverse osmosis systems.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a CAD discipline.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with design of mechanical support systems for piping, valves, pumps, and instrumentation.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Projects.
Ability to produce drawings using drafting techniques outlined in department SPO.
Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret various types of instructions.
Experience creating complete Bills of Materials for produced drawings.
Work EnvironmentThis is an onsite position, working Monday through Friday. The work involves using technology such as Autodesk Plant 3D, Autodesk Vault, and Autodesk AutoCAD. The role requires close collaboration with project managers and adherence to technical and safety standards.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
