The owner of a 25-year-old civil construction company is retiring and looking for a sharp, experienced, aggressive replacement. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for the company’s entire operational performance.
Responsibilities of the position:
· Analyze future opportunities for the company.
· Market and bring in new business.
· Oversee daily operations and personnel.
· Review financial statements and job costing.
· Manage total company financial results.
The company is based in Pinellas County, Florida with its market area being the greater Tampa Bay area. There are approximately 40 employees; the key operational positions are staffed with experienced long-term personnel.
The owner will stay on as necessary to assist the successful candidate to ensure continued success of this diversified company.
Mandatory requirements for the position:
· Experience in civil construction: earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving
· Project Manager level experience
· Estimating ability
· Construction cost analysis experience
· Ability to understand and utilize financial statements.
Additional desirable attributes:
· Civil engineering degree
· Knowledge of general construction
· Prior business experience
· Sales / marketing experience
The owner is open to discussions regarding the long-term tenure of the company, such as: ESOP, internal acquisition, or sale to a third party.
