Office Contact Office of K-12 School Choice, (850) 245-0502 Job Description/Duties & Responsibilities The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position for an Executive Assistant that is responsible for executing the following functions:

Act as the primary support staff for the Executive Director of the K-12 School Choice Office. Responsible for administrative support including scheduling all travel for the Director and Deputy Director including reservations and payments. Manage calendar for Executive Director. Ensures that the Executive Director receives all calls and messages in a timely manner. Other administrative duties as requested.

Assist with formatting content for submission as School Choice website updates and coordinate with the Web Development Team to ensure content meets Department publishing standards.

Serve as the Office’s contact for preparing Paperless Communications and for ensuring published documents are ADA compliant.

Assist with the monitoring and processing of CorrFlow assignments, ensuring responses are of high quality and submitted by established timelines.

Coordinate scholarship site visits and work closely with related staff as needed for planning and preparation of visits.

Develop and maintain pertinent information related to controlled open enrollment and the Opportunity Scholarship Program, including contact information for district school choice offices.

Support the grant manager in the administration of the K-12 grant agreement with Tallahassee Community College, including associated projects including advertising positions, hiring personnel, and making purchase requisitions.

Assist the budget officer with activities related to property control and physical facilities, including technology requirements for new hires and employee moves.

Perform related work as assigned.

Educational Substitutions:

An associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for two years of experience.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for three years of experience.

LEAVE INFORMATION:

Annual Leave - All full-time Career Service employees filling established positions earn annual leave in varying increments dependent upon years of creditable service. Employees with up to 5 years of creditable service earn 8.667 hours per month, with 5 to 10 years earn 10.833 hours per month and those with over 10 years of service earn 13 hours per month.

Sick Leave - Career Service employees earn 8.667 hours of sick leave credits per month
