This is a full-time position that works closely with subject-matter experts to create analytical products using data extracted from the statewide data reports provided by law enforcement agencies, State Attorneys, and courts. This position requires the ability to work in a collaborative writing environment, do research, collect data, and create informational products for use by law enforcement agencies as well as academic researchers. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties include:

Directing the activities of the Florida Statistical Analysis Center (FSAC) to include conducting objective analyses to meet critical planning needs and addressing statewide and system-wide criminal justice policy issues;

Insuring that FSAC efforts are consistent with federal grant and operating guidelines;

Responding to the information needs of local, state and federal criminal justice agencies including responsiveness to all request for information from authorized entities;

Serving as the representative from the State of Florida to the Justice Research and Statistic Association (JRSA);

Assisting with quality assurance for complete entry of arrest, judicial, custody and registration records in Florida Criminal History Files;

Overseeing research data set management and server technology;

Consulting with management on bureau planning activities and policy development;

Supervising FSAC staff, overseeing training and staff development;

Participating in bureau task forces to improve or enhance procedures;

Conducting operational and quantitative research;

Analyzing and interpreting criminal justice data; and

Presenting results to management and others as required.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and four years of professional experience in program planning, analysis or evaluation, or project planning or management, two years of which must be in a supervisory capacity;

A master’s degree can substitute for one year of the required non-supervisory experience; or

Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;

Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;

Knowledge of program planning and evaluation;

Knowledge of methods for collection, analysis and organization of data;

Knowledge of problem-solving techniques;

Knowledge of leadership principles and agency fundamental values;

Ability to compile, organize and analyze data;

Ability to conduct fact finding research;

Ability to coordinate task forces working on complex planning and research issues;

Ability to effectively coordinate both verbally and in writing; and

Ability to supervise people.

BASE SALARY:

72,000.00

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants.
