The Work You Will Do: The Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection is accepting applications for a(full-time) OPS Administrative Assistant I. The daily tasks include answering main phone lines, responding to general email inquiries, data entry, receiving paper and electronic mail, date stamping, data entry, scanning, review and distribution of various applications. Pay:

$15.00/hr.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Monitor and answer the ORCP main phonelines

Collect and distribute office mail

Review and respond to general email inquiries

Maintain the office supply closet and ensure it contains the requisite items most often utilized

Provide preliminary review and evaluation of grant applications for the Hurricane Restoration Reimbursement Grant Program

Proos, correcting grammar, spelling and punctuation as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities(Essential) :

Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.

Knowledge of office procedures and practices.

Ability to prepare reports from database.

Ability to use computers and related hardware.

Ability to understand and follow policy direction and rules applicable to public records requests.

Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities(Preferred) :

Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness.

Ability to lift/handle boxes weighing 10 lbs.
