The intern will assist the team with developing new actuator, motor and drive designs for our next generation of products. The intern will play an integral role in supporting the design, integration, and validation of these new designs.Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Preparing and performing experimental tests on DTC compressors, including instrumentation setup, to evaluate the performance of the electrical/electronic components.
Post-processing and draw conclusions on the data collected during compressor testing.
Set up and run finite elements simulations to evaluate the electromagnetic performance of high-speed electric motor and/or magnetic bearing systems.
Investigating root-cause analysis and troubleshooting possible issues related to the performance of high-speed electric motors and magnetic bearing systems.

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering. Seniors and grad students preferred.
Sound knowledge of electromagnetic devices like actuators and electric motors.
Experience on properly setting instruments (i.e. power analyzer, oscilloscope) for testing electric devices.
Able to contribute as a member of an organized project team of engineers.
Analytical and technical skills with a strong desire to learn.
Experience with motor-drive systems and power converters control technologies.
Experience on simulation tools (MATLAB, Ansys Electromagnetic is a plus).
Availability to work 15-20 hours/week.
Candidates must be located within 50 miles of the work location.
