The person in this position will participate in vulnerability scanning and recommendations for remediation, Security Information Event Management (SIEM) administration and analysis, incident response management, and administration of security control solutions such as reviewing firewall rules, authorized software lists, and other relevant security controls. The selected applicant will also assist in formulation and maintenance of information security policies in conjunction with the FDLE Information Security Manager. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties include:

Assists in the ongoing support and administration of the Department’s information security program;

Participates in vulnerability scanning and recommendations for remediation, Security Information Event Management (SIEM) administration and analysis, incident response management, and administration of security control solutions such as reviewing firewall rules, authorized software lists, and other relevant security controls; and

Assists in formulation and maintenance of information security policies in conjunction with the FDLE Information Security Manager.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in computer systems analysis or computer programming; or

A bachelor's or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems; or

A high school diploma or its equivalent and five years of experience in computer systems analysis or computer programming; or

Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of five years.

Completion of a 720-classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or community college in the area of data processing can substitute for one year of the required education or experience.

Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing can substitute for one year of the required education or experience.

Note: 30 semester hours, or equivalent, of course work from an accredited college or university is equivalent to one year of experience.

Data entry excluded in data processing experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge and experience in incident response, vulnerability threat assessment and mitigation;

Knowledge of operating systems as they relate to computer security and auditing;

Knowledge of networking protocols and network security methodologies;

Knowledge of Information Security concepts and best practices;

Ability to develop, test and evaluate security controls;

Working knowledge of operating system and/or telecommunications concepts;

Knowledge of VoIP telephone Systems;

Working knowledge of routers, switches and firewalls; and

Working knowledge with SIEM systems.

BASE SALARY:

50,000.00

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.

Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
