Salary Rate: $39,900.12 annually SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY. This Accountant III position is housed in the MFMP-R3 section within the Bureau of Finance & Accounting. This position is responsible for working with agency financial & accounting records. Processing Accounts Payable transactions while maintaining compliance with State and Agency policies and procedures. Performs routine accounting reconciliations, conducts research to resolve discrepancies, and maintains section files. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure compliance with §215.422 F.S., the Reference Guide for State Expenditures, department procedures, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other fiscal standards, for the timely and accurate payment of the department’s legal liabilities.

Audit and reconcile vendor invoices utilizing MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) Ariba on Demand (AOD), Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR), and other applicable sources. Audit invoices against established Purchase Orders/Direct Orders. Ensure all documentation has been provided, proper receipt approved and if applicable, certified as required.

Maintain automated files of source documents, other related documentation, and reports. Keep invoices in assignment folders updated and organized.

Prepare vouchers for record retention in accordance with depart policies. Audit financial records to ensure they are current, complete, accurate, and that all significant data has been recorded and is clearly stated. Ensure vouchers are marked ready for QA daily.

Monitor daily/weekly invoice reports and encumbrance reports. Follow up on outstanding items regularly.

Reconcile vendor accounts as needed. Respond to inquiries from staff, vendors, auditors, and other internal/external customers in a professional and timely manner.

Maintain the minimum required Departmental annual training hours and attend sufficient additional training in all relevant areas of accounting and computer systems to remain current and efficient.

Perform other related duties as required, including special projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge of relevant Florida Statutes, Administrative Codes, DFS Memoranda, and the Reference Guide for State Expenditures.

Knowledge of bureau operations, procedures, and practices

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.

Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.

Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

Knowledge of internal control concepts.

Proficient in accounting software

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or its equivalent and one year of accounting, finance, or administrative work experience.

Must be permitted to have access to Department Institutions and FLAIR

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given for MFMP experience.
