Additionally, this position provides research and analysis relative to state and national laws, rules and regulations that directly and indirectly impact the maintenance or dissemination of criminal justice information. This position must meet and maintain FCIC/NCIC certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties include:

Conducting research for relevant information from multiple databases and resources;

Assisting management in the creation and maintenance of operational procedures to ensure section materials are up to date and available to section members;

Assisting management in the quality assurance of criminal history records;

Conducting analysis of documentation gathered for specialized requests and assisting in the determination of impact of proposed law or rules changes;

Serving as a liaison with the Office of General Counsel to receive direction and clarification on interpretation and department;

Monitoring workflows and assisting in the completion of operational activities;

Participating in user acceptance testing as assigned to provide complete and thorough criticism of system enhancements and/or programmatic changes; and

Assisting management in the tracking of section standards and workload statistics in order to produce departmental, divisional and section level performance reports.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;

Knowledge of the criminal justice system;

Knowledge of the methods of data collection;

Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data;

Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;

Ability to operate computers and other office equipment;

Ability to monitor criminal justice information activities;

Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments;

Ability to communicate effectively;

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others;

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; and

Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data and statutes.

BASE SALARY:

$45,308.75

NOTES:
