GSM’s vision is to offer outstanding procurement, third-party risk management, and payments services to all American Express colleagues.Within GSM, the Third-Party Center of Excellence (COE) is comprised of the Third-Party Lifecycle Management (TLM) Operations, Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), and Third-Party Governance & Control teams, which collectively play a crucial role in managing third-party risk for the company.The Director - Third-Party COE Governance & Controls role reports directly to the Vice President, Third-Party COE. This role leads a global team of colleagues with primary responsibility to:Drive Results :

Conduct bypass testing in accordance with AEMP 10 Third Management policy requirements.

Perform Quality Control at key points within the third-party management lifecycle.

Manage the E2E Third-Party Contracting Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) and controls.

Drive Operational Risk Event (ORE) and finding remediation for issues identified during audits and exams of the third-party program.

Make Collaboration Essential :

Support 2 nd line of defense reviews, internal audits, and regulatory exams of the Third-Party Risk Management program.

Build relationships with key business partners, including within GSM and across the various stakeholders that interact with the third-party program at Amex.

Communicate Clearly & Effectively:

Communicate clearly with the ability to influence business partners and draw linkages across different risk disciplines.

Translate complex information into easily understandable terms.

Maintain a calm and professional manner during stressful/challenging situations.

Build a Diverse and Inclusive Team :

Build a high performing team by modeling the American Express leadership behaviors.

Create a culture of inclusivity, empowerment, and colleague engagement.

Drive colleague development by providing consistent coaching and feedback.

Minimum Qualifications :

Risk mindset: Previous experience in a risk/control related field such as, but not limited to: Third-Party Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Compliance, and Audit.

Control management: Working knowledge of the Process Risk Self-Assessment (PRSA) framework and demonstrated ability to develop controls to mitigate process risks.

People leadership skills: Consistent track record of people leadership building high performing teams and creating followership with experience leading across global markets and time zones.

Strong collaboration: Ability to effectively interface with colleagues across GSM, as well as auditors, 2nd line oversight teams, and Business Units partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in a related field
