Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an experienced Controller in the construction industry. This position is based in Stuart, Florida, in an on-site workplace environment. The Controller will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, overseeing bookkeeping activities, and reporting directly to the President of the company. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all accounting functions Supervise the bookkeeper and ensure accuracy of work Handle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) activities Carry out payroll activities in a timely manner Enter Journal Entries (JEs) into QuickBooks accurately Monitor and manage budget processes Utilize various software systems including ADP - Financial Services, DCAA, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, among others Proficient use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting Maintain a thorough understanding of construction accounting practices Handle any additional responsibilities as assigned by the President of the company. Requirements Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position. Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems. Familiar with ADP - Financial Services. Has knowledge and experience in DCAA regulations and procedures. Experienced in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems. Ability to oversee all Accounting Functions. Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Has experience in Auditing. Familiar with Budget Processes. Proficient in QuickBooks. Experienced in managing Payroll for 101 - 500 Employees. Has a background in Construction Accounting. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
