CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.

The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.

This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.

As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e., High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.

Must be able to obtain a completion of a favorable National Agency Check background investigation clearance.

NOTE

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A High School Diploma AND

Two (2) years of professional experience in Customer Service, Administrative Support, or related field

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Researches and initiates request for supplies and equipment. Orders construction material from local vendors and state contract for both warehouse stock and maintenance/repair. Ensures materials are procured from companies providing the best quality service and price.

Maintenance of functional files. Maintains functional files on all requisitions and receipts for building material processed through the State Warehouse.

Prepares and maintains inventory records for storeroom supplies and equipment. Maintains formal records on all building material stock items located within the warehouse at a 95% accuracy rate. Makes computer changes when receipts are processed. (I.e. price or unit of issue).

Receives, sorts, stores, inventories, and issues supplies and equipment. Performs periodic inventories as directed by the supervisor in such a manner that no more than 20% recounts are required.

General administrative duties. Transmits and receives communications on the Post radio network. Consolidates and processes all Warehouse issues made for the previous month.

Performs related other duties as assigned. Makes direct purchases, pickup and delivery of materials from commercial vendors in the local area.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of record-keeping procedures.

Ability to receive, sort, verify and store chemicals, apparatus, and supplies.

Ability to prepare purchase requisitions.

Ability to inspect equipment and materials to ensure that they are prepared and issued according to schedule and instructions. Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to operate a forklift, pallet-jacks, hand trucks and dollies.
