Your Specific Responsibilities: This position is responsible for interviewing clients upon entrance to the Hernando County Health Department (HCHD) programs to determine initial and continuing eligibility for service. Interviewing clients for the purpose of obtaining pertinent information as appropriate. Screens and schedules client’s appointments for our various clinics. Assists in preparing for clients’ upcoming scheduled clinic appointments. This position must have a working knowledge of all the different medical services provided by the HCHD. Must be capable of making independent judgment and decision making as the need arises. Works in front desk clinic area and other areas as requested, interviewing clients for documentation of accurate demographic information, i.e., address, date of birth, name, social security number, Medicaid numbers, etc. Verifies Medicaid, Medicare, Health Management Organization (HMO), Private insurance and financial eligibility in the proper computer programs and applications upon intake of the clients for services provided through HCHD. Update, organizes and maintains client records. Scanning necessary documents such as Photo ID’s, Custodial papers, Court orders, clinical documents, any required signature pages per policy and procedure. Obtaining documentation of accurate demographic information, i.e., address, date of birth, name, social security number, Medicaid numbers, etc. Verifies Medicaid, Medicare, Health Management Organization (HMO), Private insurance and financial eligibility in the proper computer screens upon intake of the clients for services provided through HCHD. Update, organizes and maintains client records. Scanning necessary documents such as Photo ID’s, Custodial papers, Court orders, required signature pages per policy and procedure. Working with Florida Shots (FLSHOTS) entering new clients and updating demographic of existing clients in the system. Ensure HMS has a FLSHOT id number on the demographic page. Scheduling clinical appointments based on client need and appointment guidelines. Works as receptionist, providing general information as requested by clients. Electronically signing in clients and providing clients with Q-Flow designation number (electronic) at sign in. Acts as the key holder for the receiving room, managing the users to open and retrieve and place parcel packages in receiving room. Answers telephone for incoming calls directed from the Appointment Desk line scheduling and confirming clinics appointments verifying insurance status and updated demographic information. and programs. Working with our Refugee population. Ensuring program eligibility, speaking with client via telephone or face to face. Verifying USA documented status, Insurance status. Provide follow up information, phone calls, scheduling, or rescheduling. Schedule refugee client appointments according to policy guidelines. Register client into FLSHOTs database and in Health Management Services HMS. Scan appropriate related documents into Health Management Services (HMS) client record. Prepare client records in advance for upcoming clinic appointments. Taking care client information and appropriate forms, eligibility and Insurance payor type is documented. Verifying reason for appointment is accurate for requested service type. Call client to confirm appointments two days in advance reminding clients to arrive 15 minutes early, bring in Proof of income if applicable. Cancel or reschedule client appointments upon clinic change or client request. Exit clients performing billing of services per payor source such as Contracted services, Medicaid, Medicaid HMO’s, Private Health Insurance and Self paying clients, per our billing resource guide. Enter Services and payer information on the daily tally each day. Scheduling any future appointments. Answers incoming calls being routed from the Appointment desk. Making client appointments verifying demographics, insurances and other necessary information needed to make an appointment. Set client expectations of what is needed for services at DOH Hernando County. Prepares Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women as applications are received in the Brooksville office. Attends conferences, in-service programs and workshops with regards to various programs, duties and responsibilities. Types routine correspondence memorandums and reports as requested. Responsible for designee and “need to know” employee for security sets relating to active medical records and immunization card as it relates to performance of assigned duties and responsibilities for security and confidentiality of same. Performs other related duties as required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
