Our fast-growing, dynamic, technology driven Land Surveying Company has an immediate need for the below field positions to join our growing business throughout the state of Florida. This position will work in a fast-paced field environment.

This is a full-time position.

High-level overview included below but not limited to:

Crew Chief: starting at $24.00 per hour

Utilizing a range of surveying tools such as GPS, total stations, and data collectors, the role involves assisting in determining elevations and property boundaries for title surveys and elevation certificates. Work takes place outdoors throughout the year, across varying weather conditions. Physical demands include the ability to adopt different standing and sitting positions and lift weights up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with assistance.

Operating Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work during seasonal periods. Employees commence their workday upon departure from home in a company vehicle.

Job Requirements:

Ideal candidates will possess self-management skills, a sense of responsibility, a commitment to safety, and a preference for independent work.

Tasks include fulfilling assignments delegated by the Field Manager to ensure project completion with accuracy and efficiency.

Downloading and uploading survey data into appropriate computer network or field data collector files.

Marking measurement points with elevation, station number, or other identifiers.

Clearing brush and trees along survey lines.

Maintaining data quality in the field and independently conducting necessary calculations to complete surveys accurately.

Overseeing equipment and vehicle maintenance, ensuring each morning that the vehicle is properly equipped and stocked, and returning equipment and supplies at the end of each shift to correct location in vehicle.

Establishing and nurturing effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, clients.

Fulfilling all assigned duties to meet business requirements safely, ethically, and professionally.

Residential Land Surveying Field Crew Chief Skills and Experience

A high school diploma or GED diploma is mandatory.

Desirable qualifications include at least 2 years of relevant experience in the surveying industry.

A valid Driver’s License and a driving record that meets insurance requirements.

Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as understanding of units of weight, volume, and distance, along with knowledge of algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.

Capability to operate instruments necessary for survey data collection or distribution, such as total stations, data collectors, and GPS devices.

Proficiency in utilizing job-related software, electronic technology, and cloud-based solutions independently.
