Warehouse Associate - Amazing Work Environment!

Vanlife Outfitters is seeking a Part-Time (with opportunity for Full-Time) Warehouse Associate who will assist in all the day-to-day shipping and fulfillment operations of the company. The Warehouse Associate will work closely with a tight knit team to ensure orders are being fulfilled efficiently and inventory is being tracked accurately. The Warehouse Associate will play a crucial role in ensuring orders are getting properly fulfilled as quickly as possible.

Vanlife Outfitters has been an established leader in the camper van community since 2016. We recently launched an online store for both professional and DIY camper van builders which is growing rapidly. We offer a broad range of carefully curated products ranging from fully unique products to marine-grade appliances and other road tested components. This rapid growth means that we need to add reliable and responsible members to the team.

This is a great ground-floor opportunity to join a startup in the fast-growing RV/“vanlife” market. You’ll be paid a competitive salary hourly rate and work in a friendly, laid back atmosphere. You’ll also have the ability to partially define your schedule.

Responsibilities:

- Identify the orders that need to be fulfilled by the warehouse each day.

- Prepare outbound shipments by following specific procedures according to the type of product.

- Follow a process to ensure that the correct items are being shipped to the correct customer via the correct shipping method.

- Utilize our ecommerce platform (WooCommerce) to change / update / input order notes based it’s the order status and tracking information daily.

- Utilize Shipstation to print packing slips and shipping labels daily.

- Palletize freight items accordingly daily/weekly.

- Meet with freight drivers daily/weekly to receive inventory and ship orders.

- Perform weekly inventory checks.

- Assemble certain products to build inventory for future potential orders.

- Re-arrange warehouse daily/weekly according to current inventory on hand to maximize efficiency/space.

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

- Creatively seek and implement new tools or processes to increase fulfillment efficiency.

Requirements:

- Extremely organized with a high level of attention to detail.

- Reliable and dependable.

- Hard worker (willing to go the extra mile to do the job right).

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent problem solving skills.

- A positive and engaged “can-do” attitude with the ability to self-manage and prioritize work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

- Valid Florida driver’s license.

- Fluent English (bi-lingual English/Spanish is a bonus!)

- (Preferred) warehouse experience (2 years +)

- (Preferred) basic computer skills.

- (Preferred) ability to operate a forklift (we can provide training / certification)

Ideal candidates will have some (or all) of the following skills:

- An interest in vanlife and camper vans and travel.

- An interest in working in a startup environment.

- (Preferred) Light / Basic experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical or other skills (Handy).

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

- The potential for prolonged sitting and standing.

- The ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

- Low stress, laid back friendly environment.

- Requires occasional (approx. 5%) travel in the Sarasota/Bradenton area.

- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.

- Able to closely follow procedures and communicate information to team members effectively.

Compensation and Benefits:

- $17-20 per hour (based on experience).

- The hours will vary between 20 to 35 hours a week. You will be able to have some schedule flexibility and will be able to have some say in creating your schedule.

- Periodic raises based on performance and skills.

- Great discounts on van building components if you’re interested in your own camper van.

- Possibility of moving to full-time for the right candidate.
