This leader has operational accountability and oversight and manages the daily activities of Hospitality Services Operations. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring teamwork tasks, projects, and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals.
The Operations Manager for Environmental Services/Housekeeping is responsible for assisting Environmental Services leaders in directing and overseeing the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department. This includes coordinating the tasks of front-line staff, conducting inspections, and serving as a liaison between administration and hospital departments to provide the highest possible level of service.
Required Qualifications
Require a bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
Relevant experience in a hospitality services setting can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required degree.
Require a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in hospitality services management within a healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer proficiency in the use of computer software with Microsoft Word, Excel, Approach, and intranet/internet.
Prefer the ability to balance multiple priorities in a demanding environment with responsibility for multi-skilled position.
Prefer the ability to be adaptable and willing to adjust accordingly to the needs of the department and/or health care system. - Prefer the ability to direct, control and coordinate activities of assigned personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Scheduling, training, and supervision of all housekeeping staff
Conducts regular inspections and makes recommendations to the facility for improvements.
Participates in the hiring process by interviewing applicants and making recommendations for hire.
Builds positive relationships with hospital staff to ensure we are meeting their needs.
Analyzes and interprets performance metrics related to patient experience, process improvement, and bed throughout.
Understands and stays current on CMS CAHPS requirements, survey processes, results, and statistical significance, and articulates them in a written or oral mode to all levels of the organization. Maintains knowledge of current research data to support best practices for the delivery of patient experience.
