I am looking for a nursing/medical student who needs housing and experience caring for the elderly to live in full time with my mom.
You will have your own bedroom and bathroom, with full access to the rest of the house. Gulf Gate area of Sarasota.
Mom has Alzheimer’s disease, but she can manage her own schedule, walk her dog, and dress herself. She has fecal incontinence and needs help in the bathroom with cleaning herself and cleaning up after her.
Your responsibilities are:
7:00 am - Help her in the bathroom so she is clean and can get dressed
Walk the dog with her
Prepare breakfast – cereal, fruit, nuts
Drive her to the Friendship Center in downtown Sarasota by 9:00 am
Pick her up at the Friendship Center at 3:00 pm
Heat up a bowl of soup for her
She takes her last walk with her dog at 5 pm and goes to bed
Be available during the night to help her to the bathroom. It will prevent the bathroom from being messy in the morning
Light cleaning throughout the house
Helping mom take a shower – she is reluctant and thinks she has already done it
Her daughter lives next door so there is flexibility to this schedule depending on your school schedule, such as driving or picking her up from the center and going out in the evenings after she goes to bed. Days off can be discussed dependent on your preference and need.
The caregiver must be a non smoker, female, and has a car.
Mileage will be paid on the days that you take mom to the Friendship Center.
$2000 per month + free rent
