The typical noise level of this job is moderate.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate various CMT projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to specifications

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists, ecologists, and other engineers, to deliver integrated project solutions

Prepare project schedules, budgets, and reports while maintaining close communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and project goals

Conduct and oversee testing of construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates to assess suitability, durability, and compliance with standards

Review test results, analyze data, and provide recommendations based on project requirements and industry standards

Ensure all CMT processes adhere to relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines

Prepare and review engineering reports, proposals, and technical documentation related to CMT, environmental impact, and ecological assessments

Contribute to the team's studies by analyzing material impacts, participating in site assessments, and collaborating with other departments

Maintain thorough documentation of all project stages, ensuring accuracy and compliance for regulatory submissions

Ensure all projects meet state and federal environmental and construction standards, including ASTM, AASHTO, and other regulatory requirements

Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance protocols to uphold high standards across all projects

Assist in preparing permit applications, regulatory reports, and environmental impact studies for project compliance

Serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, addressing inquiries, and maintaining a positive relationship

Participate in client meetings to discuss project scopes, deliverables, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations

Represent the company in industry events, regulatory meetings, and community outreach initiatives

Other duties may be assigned

Required Qualifications:

Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)

Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

Engineer Intern (EI) certification; intention to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

3+ years of experience in Construction Material Testing (CMT) or a related field, ideally within environmental or ecological consulting

Strong understanding of ASTM, AASHTO, and other CMT standards and protocols

Familiarity with environmental regulations and practices, particularly in construction and ecological impact

Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills

Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software; experience with GIS or similar environmental tools is a plus

Ability to travel within Florida to attend site visits, client meetings, business development events, and other meetings

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or clients.

Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop and cell phone, including sending and receiving emails, prepare and present PowerPoint Presentations, and learn Deltek Vision, SAP Concur, and various building department software(s). Advanced computer skills that require an in-depth understanding of various engineering software.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge of consulting principles

Experience with soil, concrete, and asphalt testing, including laboratory and field-testing procedures

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail

Commitment to sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices
