Join Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC as a Field Surveyor/GPS Tech and play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our road construction projects. As a Field Surveyor/GPS Tech, you will use GPS and unit total station (UTS) equipment to lay out road construction projects, verify the accuracy of survey data, and operate 3D machine control systems to assist paving operations. You will be a key contributor to the successful completion of our projects.
Reporting relationships
The field surveyor directly reports to the field technology lead/supervisor.
Requirements:
Education
Minimum of a high school diploma
Skills, knowledge, and abilities
To have the ability to use global positioning systems (GPS) to lay out road construction projects. Knowledge of field laser levels and field conventional levels. Some experience with survey theodolites.
Job responsibilities
Utilize GPS/UTS equipment (e.g., Trimble, Topcon) to accurately layout road construction projects.
Collaborate with field supervisors to provide precise layout for daily construction activities.
Operate and maintain 3D machine control systems for paving operations.
Assist in data collection and processing using surveying software (Trimble Business Center, Siteworks)
Ensure all work adheres to Ajax quality standards and safety protocols.

The essential functions of this position include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting a minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low-level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing, and talking.
