Shop Manager – Heavy Equipment Repair Facility
Location: Palmetto FL 34221
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Shop Manager to oversee operations at our heavy equipment repair facility. This position requires hands-on expertise in diesel mechanics, hydraulic cylinder repair, and welding. In addition to managing the shop, the ideal candidate will handle customer communication, type invoices, find parts, price shop for deals, and ensure the facility runs efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise a team of mechanics, fabricators, and painters.
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic cylinders, and heavy equipment.
Perform and oversee welding and fabrication projects.
Communicate with customers about services and provide job updates.
Type invoices, maintain records, and manage work schedules.
Price shop and source parts to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Train and mentor staff to improve skills and productivity.
Ensure shop operations meet safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Experience in diesel mechanics, welding, and hydraulic repair is required.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and hydraulic issues.
Proficiency in typing and basic computer skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
