Top 100 Independent Furniture Store Chain with six retail locations along Florida’s west coast is seeking a Degreed - Staff Accountant for our Corporate headquarters in Sarasota, FL.
Responsibilities:
Inventory Accounts Payable
Inventory Reconciliation and related system processing
Media advertising and processing
Provide purchase orders and packing list for receiving department of incoming shipments daily
Run inventory receiving reports and match with vendor invoice. Verify any variances
Account for all received merchandise by the close of business at month end.
Calculate % of inventory for freight, tariff and insurance. Prepare invoices according specific specifications
Update AP database/spreadsheet as terms and conditions change.
Obtain approval for invoice price variances from buyer and update PO in FROG
Notify vendors with invoice price variances or merchandise shipment discrepancies
Reconciliation and related system processing
Debit memo review
Rebate Program Processing
Cross-train on bank reconciliations
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelors of Accounting Degree
Minimum of 2 years on the job experience in Accounting
Strong data entry skills
10-key by touch
Must manage time effectively
Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, V-Look-up, sort, filter, etc)
QuickBooks Experience
Experience with general ledger and complex accounts payable
Able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills and a process improvement mindset
Ability to effectively communicate across various levels of the company and with vendors
Possess a keen attention to detail
Knowledge of manufacturing and cost accounting would be helpful but not required
Problem investigating/inquisitive and questioning mindset
