Specifically, the Center targets kindergarten readiness, 3rd grade reading proficiency, and algebra proficiency as critical milestones in children’s educational trajectory that are predictive of success in school and life. The Center works at the nexus of research, practice, and policy to develop sustainable systems that leverage educational technologies and improve the implementation of research-based practices. Housed in one of the nation’s elite public research universities, the Center operates as a dynamic, entrepreneurial workplace focused on executing against UF’s service mission to strengthen the human condition and improve the quality of life.As a Center entirely funded through contracts and grants, the Lastinger Center is dependent upon its ability to deliver and communicate the impacts of highly effective professional learning programs. We are looking for a qualified post-doc with experience in the areas of mathematics education and qualitative research methodologies.The Postdoctoral Associate will collaborate with the Lastinger Center Math team in professional development design, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data analysis, and presentation and publication of results for a wide variety of stakeholders.Responsibilities:

Attend team meetings

Aid in project management

Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis

Collect, organize and analyze qualitative and quantitative data

Co-author research publications and reports

Candidates will be evaluated on the following factors:

Openness to learning

Comfort in ambiguous situations

Ability to change course on short notice

Skills in participating in research projects and generating research ideas

Ability to co-author publications and grant proposals

Expertise in PreK-12 mathematics and mathematics education

Experience with qualitative research methods in education

Strong organizational and communication skills

Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills

Ability to receive and respond to feedback

This is a twelve-month, remote position.Expected Salary:$60,000 - $65,000Minimum Requirements:

An earned doctorate in Mathematics Education or related field at the time of

appointment.

Experience with qualitative research methods

Comfort with new and emerging technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience conducting classroom observations

Writing for publication

Classroom mathematics teaching experience in US Schools

Experience with quantitative research methods
