Description Are you an experienced Controller with expertise in tax preparation, full-cycle accounting, and a knack for thriving in complex financial scenarios? Our client is actively seeking a Controller to play a pivotal role in their operations, centered in the Trucking and Real Estate development sectors. As the successful candidate, you will lead in tax preparation, manage all aspects of accounting, and provide valuable insights through variance analysis. Your proficiency in QuickBooks will contribute to establishing a robust accounting system, ERP implementation is highly preferred. Comfortable with adaptability and being a hands-on leader. In the long term, you'll play a key role in planning and executing office space expansion. Ideally, candidates with experience in Commercial Real Estate or the Trucking industry are preferred. You will be responsible for establishing a close process, building process and procedures and owning the month end close process. Present monthly financial reports

Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations

Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

Requirements - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

CPA or MBA preferred

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

Foundational knowledge in Month-end Journal Entries

Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis

Financial statement preparation experience required

General familiarity with Metric Reporting

Proven knowledge of Full Cycle Accounting

Practical knowledge of KPI Reporting

Journal entries experience

Banking credit analysis experience

Well-founded grasp of metrics

Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Prior work done in public accounting is desired

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
