Claims Associate

Description Reporting to our Claims Manager, we will count on you to handle members' claims with attention to detail, compassion, and quality. Your main responsibilities will include:Claims Review: Set up new claims, create claim forms, scan claims to be processed and process claims. Interact with providers to obtain additional documents for proper processing. Evaluate coverage for claims submitted. Verify coverage via internal system and attach support documents to claims. Send out communication acknowledging and explaining the claim adjudication process to members.Customer Service Excellence: Deliver exceptional support to members, providers and other departments via phone, email, and chat channels. Demonstrate attention to detail, empathy and active listening skills.Product Knowledge: Serve as product knowledge expert including benefit coverage to members.What We Need From You 2+ years of medical claims and/or medical billing work experience in a professional office setting. Knowledge of medical codes and terminology, billing practices, policies, and procedures. Able to read and understand primary explanation of benefits (EOB) forms. A high school diploma. Some college or higher education is a plus Previous customer service experience. Strong computer skills with Excel and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. An ability to organize, prioritize, and execute your work in a manner that meets established claim/recovery service standards and benchmarks.
