The Quality Assurance Manager is tasked with leading the implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies aimed at elevating product quality and reducing customer complaints. This position requires an in-depth analysis of Voice of the Customer (VOC) data obtained through customer complaint investigations and direct customer engagements. The QA Manager is responsible for translating this feedback into actionable projects, which requires close collaboration with the engineering team. These efforts will focus on minimizing quality issues, enhancing product standards, improving process efficiency, and actively contributing to the achievement of an injury-free work environment. Reports To: Technical Manager Direct Reports: 4 Quality Assurance Technicians EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Statistics, or related field. 3-5 years in QA/QC manufacturing environment, including 1-2 years managing a QC team. Proven ability to effectively communicate with teams on the work floor, in management, and externally with customers and suppliers. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Extensive experience with ISO 9001, CI project implementation, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools such as Quality Analyst, Minitab, and Excel. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred: Lab Manager experience. Six Sigma Green Belt or higher. Proficiency in Microsoft Access. ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS Results-Driven: Achieve consistent quality and manufacturing performance. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Build the QA Systems and capabilities needed to support business growth: Drive continuous improvement in lab efficiency, process control, and product quality. Enhance data analysis, performs annual reviews of direct reports, and oversee capital projects. Support rotating shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment as needed. Maintain and upgrade equipment as required to mitigate business continuity risks. Lead ISO-9001 certifications and maintain quality data systems. Conduct annual Quality Management Reviews and internal audits. Driving continuous quality improvement projects that provide meaningful benefits to the business. Interface with sales and customers on complaints, data requests, and certifications. Lead efforts to develop, track, and refine product specifications. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to guide product and process improvements. Ensure teams are made aware of process shifts and out of compliance conditions. Manage non-conforming materials, calibrations, and supplier documentation. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs; occasional bending, stooping, and overhead lifting required. Operate safely in high-temperature, high-noise manufacturing environments.
