Apply Today!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Endoscopy Technician supports the gastroenterologist and other members of the endoscopy team to facilitate patient care flow within the department. Primarily the task and responsibilities are related to the procedure rooms, which include maintenance and cleaning of endoscopes and related equipment, ensure proper handling of specimens, and ordering and maintaining appropriate par levels of Endoscopy supplies in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The Endo technician utilizes initiative, demonstrates flexibility and strives to maintain a steady level of productivity. The experienced Endo Tech may participate in the orientation and mentoring of new staff members. The Endoscopy department is staffed from 0630 to 1500 Monday through Friday, with on call requirements to cover 24 hour service.ESSENTIAL CORE FUNCTIONS:
Patient and family support
Patient safety-identification, fall prevention, skin and wound program
Transports, positions and drapes patients for procedures
Chain of Command
Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner
Sets up computer charting for physicians daily
Airway Management
Mock Code
GI Bleed Protocol-Assist with Gold probe, Argon, Blackmore Tube insertion
Endoscopy equipment cleaning and maintenance

What qualifications you will need:
High School Diploma or equivalent
BLS certificate required
Previous experience in a patient care area or Endoscopy preferred
