Description We are offering a role in the Utilities/Infrastructure industry based in central Florida, for a Staff Accountant. In this position, you will be stepping into a crucial role within our team, providing coverage for an outgoing team member. Your primary responsibilities will be in managing various aspects of our accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger management, Journal Entries, and Month End Close procedures.Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date Prepare and record journal entries in compliance with financial policies and procedures Oversee the month-end close process, including preparing financial reports and statements Work collaboratively within the team to optimize accounting procedures Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department Address financial discrepancies by thoroughly reviewing and rectifying accounting records Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards. Take on additional tasks related to accounting operations as needed.Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role within the Utilities/Infrastructure industry. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Experience with Bank Reconciliations and maintaining the General Ledger. Ability to prepare accurate Journal Entries. Familiarity with Month End Close procedures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel. Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation. Professional certification such as CPA is a plus.
