Position: Director of Operations
Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Operations to oversee our trucking company's daily operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and implementing best practices, tools, and metrics to ensure competitive performance. This role includes managing expenses and ensuring operations remain within the division budget. Key responsibilities include structuring operations, dispatch management, enhancing customer relations, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Director of Operations will collaborate with various departments to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and contribute to the company's overall growth and profitability. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive experience in the trucking industry, and a proven track record of managing large-scale operations.
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of experience in trucking operations management.
Key Responsibilities:
Structuring Operations: Develop and implement efficient structures for dispatch, safety protocols, and financial management.
Dispatch Management: Oversee the dispatch process to ensure timely and efficient routing of trucks and drivers, optimizing delivery schedules and minimizing downtime.
Safety Oversight: Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures, conduct regular safety audits, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and prepare weekly reports on revenue, expenses, and profitability. Identify opportunities to improve cash flow and reduce costs.
Operation Efficiency and Cost Management: Establish operations best practices, tools, and metrics to deliver competitive performance while being responsible for managing expenses and operating within the division budget.
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of dispatchers, safety officers, and finance personnel. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure team effectiveness.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve company goals, such as increasing revenue and expanding market share.
Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention.
Problem Solving: Address operational challenges promptly and effectively, resolving issues related to logistics, safety incidents, and financial discrepancies.
Qualifications:
