We are a large condominium complex and are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician who performs a wide range of skilled construction tasks including maintenance of plumbing, electrical, ventilating, and/or air conditioning facilities and equipment at a level not requiring formal licensure. The Construction Technician may be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades, such as operating light equipment, carpentry, and painting.
Skills: Plumbing, electrical, or carpentry abilities are required, including the ability to use small hand and power tools, precision measuring and testing devices, mechanical equipment, and various building trades materials. The ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures is required. The ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures is required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
Effort: Incumbents in this position frequently lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching occur daily. Mobility and dexterity sufficient to operate manual and electrically powered tools and related carpentry shop equipment is required. The work performed by incumbents in this position occurs throughout the condominium and often involves climbing stairs in buildings and working at heights from ladders. The work is performed indoors and out-of-doors, occasionally in environments that are dusty, noisy, or which could have work hazards. Vision sufficient to inspect and perform repairs and maintenance is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean background.
