Job Description: Primary duties include startup/observe/trouble shoot the operation of project HVAC equipment and systems. Duties also include assisting the Mechanical Construction installers with the installation and quality control of various HVAC systems and related components.
Duties and Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)
Installation of controls/wiring and duct smoke detectors.
Alignment of pumps.
Evacuate/charge refrigerant systems.
Trouble shooting and repair of various HVAC related devices.
Timely completion of equipment informational and startup forms
Interact with project commissioning authority
Train project clients on installed HVAC equipment operation
Other duties as assigned.
Must be able to work nights, weekends and overtime if required
Desired Skills & Experience
Minimum seven years of experience with Commercial HVAC startup, maintenance and equipment repair
Expert knowledge of refrigeration cycle, electrical and control wiring schematics
Proficient with chilled water HVAC systems, packaged roof top HVAC equipment, Dx split system HVAC equipment, data center type cooling equipment, VAVs, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, fans, VFDs, ductless split units, VRV/VRF cooling systems
Possess excellent diagnostic abilities
Computer Literate
Detail oriented
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Neat, clean and professional appearance
Work well under pressure while dealing with competing deadlines
Communicate effectively with different personalities
Interact and communicate professionally with colleagues and supervisors
Must be fluent in the English language.
Able to pass a background check and drug test
Valid Driver’s License with a driving record that meets company standards
Own hand tools
Education/Experience/Certifications
High School Diploma
CFC License Working Conditions: Individuals in this position will encounter:
Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. on occasion
Must be able to carry and use a step and 25’ extension ladder as well as work on scaffolding
Must be able to stand for extensive periods of time
Must be able to negotiate a typical construction site environment
