Family Medicine, Internal medicine or pediatric physician or insured senior medical resident or endocrinology post graduate MD fellow required to approve orders for type 1 diabetes autoantibody testing at the American Diabetes Association annual general meeting at the Orange County Convention center in Orlando Florida on Friday June 21, Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23.
Dried blood spot samples will be collected on filter paper cards at the Enable Biosciences Clinical Reference Laboratory booth at the ADA conference. Samples will be processed and analyzed for type 1 diabetes antibodies in the laboratory’s multi-award winning CLIA and College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited laboratory (www.enablebiosciences.com)
In compliance with the legal provisions of EKRA/AKS Physician will receive a flat hourly daily rate for test authorization services, irrespective of the volume or value of the services authorized. The authorization will be done on a form at the booth. No physical exam will take place. An educational list of applicable criteria for authorizing a type 1 diabetes autoantibody tests will be available, however the decision to authorize a test will be entirely at the decision and purview of the authorizing physician.
The physician will receive a conference badge for the exhibition and reimbursement for conference parking in the designated areas will be provided in addition to the hourly pay rate.
Physician should have valid, current professional liability insurance and an active NPI number and have a license in good standing with the Florida Medical Board.
