JOB SUMMARY: Supports Entertainment shows and offerings by conducting daily venues start up and assessments, performing routine preventative, diagnostic, and corrective maintenance of entertainment elements within show offerings. Utilize intermediate technical knowledge and understanding of audio/lighting/video elements, mechanical effects, electrical systems, and stage elements. Handles trouble calls, completes special projects and shop work as assigned by supervisor and Lead.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual inspections and preventative maintenance on technical entertainment systems and elements. These systems can include, but are not limited to audio, lighting, video, electrical, laser, and network systems. Inspections and preventative maintenance include, testing, cleaning, replacement, and/or calibration of applicable control circuits/systems.
Perform start up and checks of Entertainment venues to ensure the technical entertainment show systems and elements are ready for daily operation.
Provide accurate data entry and timely communications on P.M. tasks, corrective actions and/or repairs made while listing parts required implementing the repairs into department utilized tracking system(s). Research and specify parts to replace. Also, complete any hard copy preventative maintenance records or physical logbook entries, where appropriate.
Responds to calls for service, show down incidents, show element quality repairs, and related issues in adherence with all applicable safety rules and regulations. Initiates and engages in positive interactions with internal partners.
Apply basic troubleshooting skills to diagnose system failures and to provide immediate and/or long-term corrective actions that will improve operation reliability. This may entail referencing of technical drawings/manuals and specifications and tracking history of past failures and solutions.
Assist in projects and modifications to equipment and systems as directed by Universal Orlando Entertainment
Utilize company resources to stay current on current equipment use in entertainment systems to maintain a high show quality.
Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED required.
Associate degree (AA) preferred.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Must possess knowledge of entertainment systems theory as well as practical training and experience.
1-3 years’ experience in maintaining and repair of entertainment equipment.
1-3 years basic troubleshooting knowledge of entertainment systems.
Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
