We have an exciting Internship opportunity available in our Orlando, FL office, for a student pursuing their degree in Structural Engineering, with an interest in structural design of bridges. This position offers rewarding project challenges and an opportunity to learn from a well-established technical group. As a Bridge Engineer Intern at GRAEF, enjoy responsibilities like:
Learn design and specifications for transportation structures, including highway and railroad bridges, retaining walls and box culverts under the supervision of the lead structural engineer, per DOT requirements.
Assemble design documentation, reports, and quantity calculations for checking.
Perform structural inspection of bridges and highway structures.
Perform work as part of a team, in accordance with project budget and schedule under supervision.
To be considered for our Bridge Engineer Internship position, we are seeking candidates who meet the following basic qualifications:
A student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis in course work.
A student pursuing a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering would be a plus.
Prior internship experience in structural bridge design/inspection, or transportation is preferred.
Working knowledge of FDOT standards considered a plus.
Working knowledge of MicroStation programs preferred.
Experience with OpenBridge Modeler and Designer software is a significant advantage.
