OurLegacy's scope of operations extends to each of the following hospitals within the AdventHealth's Hospital system: Altamonte, Apopka, Celebration, Daytona Beach, Deland, East Orlando, Fish Memorial, Kissimmee, New Smyrna Beach, Orlando, Palm Coast, Waterman and Winter Park. Additionally, CMS has designated OurLegacy to provide organ and tissue donation services to all non-AdventHealth acute care and critical access hospitals and free-standing emergency rooms in the following counties; Brevard, Flagler, Indian River, Lake, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia. The Manager Family Services leads OurLegacy's donor family care program. The Manager Family Services must use his/her existing knowledge of organ and tissue donation processes; crisis intervention, grief counseling, relationship building, negotiation, death and dying, and spiritual care to ensure that all donor families receive the support needed so donation can be facilitated in all cases. The Manager Family Services must have mastery of OurLegacy policies; State of Florida laws; and federal laws, regulations, policies and standards governing organ and tissue donation and ensure OurLegacy's compliance with same. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Manager Family Services has 24 hour/7 day accountability for, and has oversight of, all donation authorization conversations in all hospitals in the OurLegacy donation service area regardless of the job description of the requester. The Manager Family Services will work daily with the Manger of Clinical Operations to determine the appropriate person and manner to conduct each donation authorization. When there a gaps in call coverage the Manager Family Services will performs duties as needed. The Manager Family Services develops, manages and leads staff and processes that are dedicated to compassionate donor family care, which includes pre and post authorization care of the donors and families. The Manager Family Services also contributes to OurLegacy staff care, including but not be limited to, staff self-care and other programs designed to help staff excel in a stressful environment.The value you’ll bring to the team:
Oversees all aspects of OurLegacy’s organ and tissue donation authorization programs in each of the hospitals within all Advent Health and non-AdventHealth hospitals in the following counties: Brevard, Flagler, Indian River, Lake, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia.
Daily evaluates the family dynamics and donor designation status of each organ and tissue donation referral. Assures each case is accurately evaluated and managed by the on-call requesting staff.
Collaborates with the Managers of Clinical Operations and Hospital and Professional Relations to assure best requesting practices are implemented in all cases.
Collaborates with the donation advocates to assure a customized plan to provide comfort, support and timely information to the donor’s next-of-kin is followed per next-of-kin’s wishes.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Bachelor's in Psychology, Social Work, Health Sciences, Counseling, or related field
10 years of relevant experience
5 years experience in federal OPO
2 years of relevant experience in a field such as Organ Donation, Psychology, Social Work or Counseling
