Under the direction of the Director, Construction Services, coordinate activities related to building and management of the OFE with architects, engineers, contracting teams, and hospitals. The equipment planner is responsible for development of estimate and planning documents for equipment needs, providing procurement detail to ensure that timing, costs, and contracts are adhered to and provide procurement functions as needed, reporting, and follow up activities. This position provides professional guidance related to design changes and equipment specifications while delivering quality customer service to all departments.The value you’ll bring to the team:
Proficient at managing multiple projects, providing deliverables in a timely manner, with accuracy, thoroughness, and minimal supervision.
Lead or co-lead user group meetings; attend onsite as needed, succinctly communicating decisions, changes and follow up within expected time frames.
Evaluate, locate, and recommend equipment to include evaluation of existing equipment if consideration to re-purpose.
Create Project in Data Base and provide essential reports to internal teammates as well as contractors and architects.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: · Knowledge of owner related equipment (including but not limited to medical equipment) planning practices; This includes material takeoffs from conceptual architectural drawings, project narratives, and verbal instructions · Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks· Solid understanding of design and construction practices; estimating, planning; Understanding of sourcing/procurement practices· Interpersonal skills to foster positive relations with hospital leaders and diverse teams· Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple small to mid-sized healthcare projects· Effective communication, both written and verbal to various levels and types of audiences· Active listening, critical thinking, proactive management skills· Familiarity with construction documents and ability to read/interpret floor plans· Proficiency with analytical software tools/ Excel· Proficiency with Microsoft Office KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED: · Experienced with building and equipment specifications· Experience in utilization of Attainia software · Familiar with web-based applications and PeopleSoft ERP· Project management · Knowledge of hospital organization and commitment to patient-centered service and professional growth· Working knowledge of Bluebeam or comparable software for editing drawings/pdf files EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: · Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years work experience in a construction or Supply Chain related field EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: · Five (5) years’ experience in the medical equipment planning industry· Five (5) years’ experience in construction estimating projects
