This position is responsible for supervision, management and oversight of the Orange City Dental Office for the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County. This position requires vision, systematic thinking and independent judgment. This position is responsible for communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work and recommending disciplinary actions when necessary. The incumbent will take part in the interviewing and hiring process for clerical staff, dental assistants and dental hygienists and will be responsible for general business operations at the Orange City Dental Clinic. When necessary the incumbent will intervene with disruptive clients. The incumbent will also serve as a general information resource and ambassador to all. This position may require traveling between dental offices. This individual will be responsible for all supervisory duties including but not limited to hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving their leave and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. This will involve frequent interactions with the community, clients, provider staff, etc. This individual is responsible for the supervision of staff including appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, having the authority for hiring, and taking disciplinary action or effectively reccomending such actions. Duties Include: MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION Supervision, planning and management/oversight of clerical staff, dental assistants and dental hygienists at the Orange City Dental clinic. Coordinate and plan work, training and activities of the dental staff. Responsible for changes to personnel assignments and job descriptions as needed. Ensures compliance with state standards (activity reporting, supply accountability and patient confidentiality). Responsible for West Volusia Hospital Authority (WVHA) contract with DOH-Volusia. Ensures deliverables are met, monitors expenses, completes all required reporting, and represents the agency at WVHA meetings. Assists Dental Program Manager with administrative duties as needed. OPERATIONAL Proficient in all Eaglesoft functions Monitors maintenance duties of staff assuring that maintenance schedules are followed. Review operations to determine if resources are being properly utilized. Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations. Back-up for clinic ordering and schedules equipment maintenance with vendor/service technicians CLINICAL SERVICES Performs hygiene duties with minimal supervision from doctor.
