We are currently hiring multiple Construction Materials Testing Technicians for a multi-year, high-profile project in South Bay, Palm Beach County, Florida. Job Summary:
The Construction Materials Testing Technician will be responsible for conducting laboratory and field tests to determine the engineering properties of various construction materials, including soils, aggregates, rock, concrete, soil cement, concrete aggregate, and asphalt aggregate. The role requires proficiency in ASTM and ACI test methods and performing soil classifications using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). The technician must ensure compliance with industry standards, maintain organized records, and adhere to all safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct laboratory and field testing on construction materials (soils, aggregates, rock, concrete, soil cement, and asphalt aggregate).
Perform tests in accordance with ASTM and ACI methodologies.
Classify soils using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS).
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment as needed.
Enter test results accurately and assist in report preparation.
Ensure a clean, organized, and efficient testing operation.
Properly discard and store samples in designated locations.
Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and company policies.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction materials testing.
American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certifications:
o Aggregate Base Testing
o Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1
o Concrete Strength Testing Technician
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening in compliance with our drug-free workplace policy.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, walking over rough terrain, and standing for extended periods.
