Hiring for a Histotechnician. Job DescriptionThe histotechnician will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in our state-of-the-art CAP-certified pathology laboratory. Under the guidance of a Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high-quality diagnostic material within established turn-around-times. Responsibilities include cutting, staining, and performing other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory. You will also perform accurate gross description on tissue samples, quality control procedures, operate instruments/equipment, assist with analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results, and ensure accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System.Hard Skills
State Licensure in Florida
Associate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science
Soft Skills
Ability to recognize and identify instrument/equipment problems
Maintaining accurate records
Assisting other personnel
Time management
