Infection Prevention Officer

This position is contingent on contract award.International Health and Medical Services is looking for an experienced Infection Control Officer to develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs within a healthcare setting. This role involves educating staff, assessing infection risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards to enhance patient safety and improve overall healthcare outcomes. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control policies and procedures in accordance with national and local guidelines. Conduct regular infection surveillance and data collection to identify infection trends and outbreak investigations. Educate and train healthcare staff on infection control practices, protocols, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure effective implementation of infection control measures and reduce healthcare-associated infections. Perform risk assessments to identify infection control needs and recommend appropriate interventions. Maintain accurate documentation of infection control activities, investigations, and outcomes. Act as a resource for staff and patients regarding infection prevention practices and provide guidance on best practices. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and quality improvement initiatives related to infection control. Review and analyze infection control data to develop reports and communicate findings to management and relevant stakeholders. Stay updated on current trends and research in infection control to continuously improve practices within the organization.   This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
