Your role as a teacher will involve a number of responsibilities which will include but are not limited to: Create, internalize, modify and prepare lesson plans in accordance with academic curriculum, working closely with the grade level teamUse data to responsively teach to mastery of academic skills Work closely with students, families and colleagues to create an environment that is supportive of student progressReinforce a firm foundation for all classes and uphold classroom management techniquesHelp with diagnostic and progress monitoring testing across the schoolMonitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure all students meet the learning objectivesUpdate student performance trackers and use data to help guide your lesson plansParticipate in school, departmental and parent meetings Participate in school events, activities and programs both during and outside of regular class instruction hours.The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands:Extended periods of time standing, especially during classroom instructionExtended periods of doing computer-based workWeekend and evening work will be necessary to carry out the requirements of this jobAccompanying students off-campus on school sanctioned field trips and experiential learning activitiesTravel to other KIPP regions for work-related conferences and professional development will be required from time to timeReasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
